You Can Inspire with the Help of Susan G Komen

SGK_blog

Has your world seemed pinker lately? October is breast cancer awareness month and CitizenGlobal has teamed up with the Susan G Komen For the Cure organization to launch the What I Would Have Missed campaign. So far we’ve received dozens of heart warming and tear jerking videos about survivors telling us what they would have missed if they had not gotten screened and treated. The content weighs heavy on your heart, but truly each of these stories is a happy one. Not only do these amazingly brave women share their triumph over cancer, but they have taken it one step further to spread the word and inspire another woman to get screened as well.

This video submitted by Teresa Lennon shows her life before, during and after cancer in pictures. In each photo Teresa is shown smiling her way through one of the most difficult trials anyone would have to go through. She is a testament to us all. Thank you for sharing Teresa!

If you or someone you know is a breast cancer survivor, you too can inspire someone to get screened by making a simple video. Click here for more information and watch the personal callout from Susan G Komen founder Nancy Brinker.

We are thrilled to announce today’s launch of the Susan G. Komen For the Cure production, What I Would Have Missed. Breast cancer survivors, and their loved ones, are invited to tell the world what they would have missed had they not been screened and treated early, and to send an urgent message to other women to get regular screenings. Early detection is key to breast cancer survival, and regular checkups and mammograms are essential for early detection. Members of the Susan G. Komen Team have submitted their own moving stories to inspire others to submit theirs–watch them here.

Update Sept. 30th : Sheila Shayon has an informative post about this production on Brandchannel.com today.

Google Teams with Fox News to Crowdsource Questions for Republican Debate

If you watched the Republican debate last night, you probably noticed the candidates being addressed by constituents via YouTube videos for some questions. Google teamed up with Fox News to enable viewers to upload questions in advance to YouTube via video or text. And these viewers were allowed to vote on their favorite questions. Once the debate started, people were given tools to vote on the best responses as they were being delivered and post their comments.

The result? Almost 19,000 questions were received and more than 100,000 votes were cast.

You can see the highlights here.
